Today I am going to talk about wedding ceremony music. With friends and family getting married or planning their wedding I thought this would be an ideal topic to discuss.
Obviously everyone knows music is a critical part of every wedding ceremony. But would you believe it is often last minute consideration in the planning process. This then leads to serious headaches and last minute problems. Why is music the most important part of your wedding you are probably asking yourself! Below I will tell you why….
The build up to your walk down the aisle is enormous. For many brides, the moment they step down the aisle is the moment their wedding really starts, it’s what everything has been building towards, and so it’s only natural that you want it to be nothing short of perfect. Getting your wedding ceremony music right will play a big part in this.
What wedding ceremony have you been to that doesn’t have music? Like none, right? What could be more uncomfortable than a large audience of people sitting and waiting for a wedding ceremony to begin … in silence?
Music stands out the most. It creates an atmosphere of feelings so it’s important to pick the music that makes you and your wedding.
You don’t need me to tell you that your wedding day will be emotional and romantic. Just as you’ll likely choose a song that is filled with these emotions for your first dance, do the same for your wedding ceremony music. It can be instrumental, but it does need to enhance all those magical things you’ll be feeling as you walk down the aisle to your future husband or wife!
While your friends and family members may not be highly skilled musicians, they know what quality music should sound like. So it’s always important to book your music in advance.
Remember you don’t have to stay traditional. While a pianist or organist might be tradition (and truly very beautiful), they aren’t your only options. Other live musicians to consider are harpists, soul choirs or even a live band. It all depends on you – It is your wedding. The music will set the mood and tone of your ceremony. It will provide a sense of comfort and familiarity, encouraging sociability among friends and family. This will express the solemnness of your wedding day.
Your wedding ceremony playlist is the most personal representation of ”you” in your ceremony. Your ceremony playlist reveals more information about your taste and personality than any other aspect of your wedding ceremony. Music is deeply personal. Whether it’s timeless hits, well-known classical pieces or a mixture of both. The music you choose does more than reflect your personal tastes. It expresses who you are. Your wedding is a once in a life time experience. So do it right by your music.
